You should call 999 for an ambulance when it is obvious that you or another person is seriously ill and in need of immediate emergency care.

Our emergency services are there to support our communities. Please think about how best to look after the health needs of you and your families. We want you to be safe.

Many calls for an emergency ambulance can be avoided, by taking care of you health, visiting you general practitioner or practice nurse. Some minor problems and medication advice may be available via your local pharmacy. Some over the counter medications are adequate for certain situations. However if unsure or not improving you should always consult your doctor. Out of normal hours, you can seek advice by dialling 111.

In the event of someone being seriously unwell call 999 and ask for an ambulance. Life threatening emergencies need immediate emergency care.
